What a treat to have clear and steady March skies in Buffalo as a window to last night's lunar eclipse. I set up a small telescope and snapped photos from my backyard like a tourist in Rome. Here is a montage of three shots showing the moon moving into the umbra during the partial phase (right), the first moments of totality (center) and the maximum penetration (left) on the moon's journey eastward through the earth's shadow.
