A tale of two seconds

Two seconds separate these images captured at the end of totality in the great American eclipse of August 21, 2017. These are the last moments when the telescope could be used without a filter in front. You can already see the camera sensor groaning from too much light. It would not be safe to observe this stage through an eyepiece. More eclipse pictures here, including this image of the partial phase twenty minutes before totality.

Recorded on August 21, 2017/ captured with Little Big Man, with solar filter removed for totality and PGR Grasshopper Express 6 megapixel camera
